Winter Olympic Games: Paul Wylie
As the torch was lit at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, France, people questioned men’s figure skater Paul Wylie’s spot on the US team. But in that sixteenth Olympic Winter Games he took home the silver in the Men’s Figure Skating.
Wylie first competed in the Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada, in 1988, but a mishap early in his program ended his hope for a medal. He said that, “two verses from the Bible flashed through his mind, helping him continue: Psalm 37:24, “The righteous shall fall, but shall not be utterly cast down” and Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him."
