We need to put on the armor of God #Shorts

Do you know it takes the power of the Spirit of God for us to be able to discipline ourselves? Now, we can show up at church, and for 60 minutes or so, we can pretty much hold it together. Now, we can blow up at one another in the parking lot as we leave, but for a few minutes, we can hold it together. But to lead lives controlled by the Spirit of God, requires the power of God's Spirit. We want to acknowledge it and humbly say to the Lord: “I cannot even control myself—not in my words, not in my thoughts. I need help"

Paul addresses this very dilemma: “Be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet” (1 Thessalonians 5:8, NIV®). Paul is indicating hope is a "helmet” that protects our minds. And the primary battlefield of our lives, is in our minds. The real protection for your mind isn't just having positive things to say about your business outcomes, or good dreams for your children. It's submitting your thoughts, your mind, and your emotions to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
