1. Read 1 Corinthians 4:8-14. Why is this admonishment needed more for Christians during peaceful times of good health and prosperity? What can you do to make sure you don’t earn the need for this admonishment?
2. Read Romans 8:19-23. How does this coronavirus outbreak help you to rightly identify with the biblical perspective in this passage? How can a Christian make sure his “groaning” doesn’t degenerate into unbiblical despondency?
3. Read Psalm 13:1-2 and Psalm 119:81-88. Why is honesty in our prayer lives so helpful for us as Christians? What problems might arise when we pretend in our prayers that everything is “great” and that we have no problems?
4. Read Hebrews 12:1-3. What aspects of this great passage are the most challenging for you? What specifically about Christ facing the pains and deprivations of his earthly ministry strengthens your resolve to endure with patience?
5. Read Romans 15:4-5, 13. What have you read or heard in God’s word recently that brought you hope, endurance, and encouragement?
