FAMILY ACTIVITY: Palm Sunday Celebration

WHAT YOU NEED: Towel or sheet, real leaves (or make leaves from paper – follow this link for a palm leaf printable pattern)

WHAT YOU DO: Place the leaves in the middle of the towel. Have everyone hold the towel around the edges. Shake the towel up and down while saying, “Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay, Jesus!”

WHAT YOU SAY: “In today’s story, we learned about Palm Sunday. Jesus rode into town on a donkey and all the people waved their palm branches in the air and shouted, ‘Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay, Jesus!’ Jesus is alive today and loves when we celebrate Him. So, one more time, who is alive? Jesus is alive!”

FAMILY PRAYER TIME

“Dear God, We are so excited that Jesus is alive and that we can celebrate Him just like they did a long time ago on that very first Palm Sunday. Thank You for sending Jesus to be our friend forever. Help us remember that we can say, ‘Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay, Jesus!’ every day! We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
