isaacxhopes - sunder (The Good Fight)

"Hi, I'm isaacxhopes (20) and I have a passion for revealing and sharing Jesus through music.

Although I have strong neo-soul, hip hop, jazz, indie and trap influences, I would simply describe my music as soul music.

Having always enjoyed writing poetry and stories, I first discovered my love for making music in Nigeria whilst at boarding school there. I was part of a rap group and in an effort to take our music to the next level, I decided to start producing.

From then on, making beats became a hobby of mine. For me, music is very visual in the sense that I compose to colours and pictures, and am also impressed with colours and pictures when I listen. In music, I found a medium where I could express myself in the most complete sense I had known.

Having grown up in a Christian family, I was going to church from a young age. I especially enjoyed worship during these years. As I grew older, I had a desire to press deeper into God and be more than just a churchgoer. Hence, another journey, parallel to my musical journey began.

I have ebbed and flowed in and out of faith, back-slidden and returned countless times. God has been so patient with me. It's funny because I used to hate the idea of being a Christian musician but now that I am established in Christ, it's the only thing that makes sense.

I'm currently in my third year of an aerospace engineering course at the University of Sheffield. There will be a lot more coming in 2018 and i'm excited to share it with you all. Thanks for reading. God bless!
