Why General Education (GE) courses? TMU Chancellor John MacArthur.
Should I take my GE courses at community college or try to zoom through them in order to get to my upper division and major courses? Dr. MacArthur encourages students to establish a worldview rooted in Scripture:
At a liberal arts institution like The Master’s University, the core of our curriculum is our general education courses. These classes are foundational for establishing a worldview rooted in Scripture.
Unfortunately, many students see GE courses as something to “get out of the way” so that they can move on to their major courses. For various reasons — many of which are understandable — some choose to take these core courses at community colleges.
When students approach GE in this way, they miss out on the soul- and life-shaping biblical depth of studying history, biology, economics, art, and philosophy from TMU faculty, who hold an uncompromising Christian worldview and teach their subjects with excellence.
I encourage you not to forfeit this opportunity for a cohesive and comprehensive education, which provides an irreplaceable foundation for your life and career.
