On September 29, 2014 at Convocation, North America's largest weekly gathering of Christian students, Vernon Brewer, a Liberty Alumna and Founder and President of World Help. Brewer began by first thanking the student of Liberty for all of their help to provide for those in need with World Help throughout the years. He then went on to address the situation in Syria and Iraq. He finished by challenging the students to stand and pray for their brothers and sisters in Christ and to actively meet peoples need right where they are.

Vernon Brewer graduated from Liberty in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science and then 18 years later founded World Help. World Help exists to fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandment through humanitarian aid, child advocacy, Bible distribution, and church planting, especially in the unreached areas of the world.
