Larry Crabb is a professional Christian psychologist. He came from a strict Christian home, but was raised to think for himself. At eight years of age he attended a Christian boy's camp. It was at a campfire meeting that he was told he could choose to burn in the fires of hell or go to heaven. "It was not a hard choice," he tells us. It was while he was in graduate school that he became an agnostic. Happily the writings of Francis Schaeffer and C. S. Lewis convinced him that he "didn't have to trade in intellect for faith."
