Understanding Your Strong-Willed Child
Cynthia Tobias says she was a strong-willed child growing up. The author of You Can't Make Me says understanding your strong-willed child is the key to gaining obedience and cooperation in the home.
Cynthia clarifies that strong-willed does not mean stubborn, rebellious or defiant, but rather determined. She says that's the child that can say no, and she tells parents that it's good to have a good dose of strong-will in a child. But watch out. Make sure that child doesn't steamroll right over you. She gives a few tips to avoid that.
