The Well: It Is Well With My Soul
For those of you facing loss of any kind...
The man who penned the words "It Is Well With My Soul," experienced grief as well. Horatio Spafford was a successful attorney and real estate investor who lost a fortune in the Chicago fire of 1871. Around the same time, his four year old son died of scarlet fever. Soon after, as his wife and four daughters were traveling to England, the ship was involved in a collision. Horatio's daughters died in the accident.
As he traveled to England to meet his wife, he wrote the hymn "It Is Well With My Soul." We pray that this music and the lyrics minister to your soul.
When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul
It is well
With my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul
It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul
It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul
It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul
