Vacations are a luxury. Some bi-vocational pastors don’t get vacations. They use vacation days from their other place of employment to do things like weddings and funerals. Every church should give vacation time. Let’s talk about the Ten Commandments of a pastor’s vacation.
1. Thou shalt take a vacation every year.
2. Thou shalt get off the field
3. Thou shalt leave clear instructions before you go.
4. Thou shalt relax.
5. Thou shalt enjoy your family.
6. Thou shalt read something fun.
7. Thou shalt not skip church.
8. Thou shalt not skip devotional time.
9. Thou shalt not feel guilty.
10. Thou shalt not return unless in an extreme emergency.
