The Friend at Midnight – Parables – Week 3 – Sermon – Mason King – 9/25/22
Luke 11:1–13
The friend at midnight is a “lesser to greater” parable, in that it shows us if we as humans respond in love to our friend’s untimely requests, then our God will respond in love all the more. Mason King shared that this parable is an invitation to live out the Lord’s Prayer by doing away with distrust, independence, self-sufficiency, and scarcity. If we believe that God is our Father in heaven, then we need to accept that His response will outdo that of any earthly friend.
We exist to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
