It’s very interesting to notice how the Holy Spirit has arranged the books of the Bible in the New Testament. In particular we have the Gospels and then we have the book of Acts that makes the connection between the life of Christ and the life of the church.
Then as you come right toward the end of your Bible, the book of the revelation of course is there but there’s a little book right before the revelation that prepares us and introduces us to the book of the revelation by telling us what will be the atmosphere religiously before our Lord returns. Contained in that little book of Jude is just one little chapter but as you read that little book of Jude, you will discover that he is talking about the apostasy, the falling away from the faith that will occur in the end times just before the Lord comes. It’s a beautiful little book just one chapter. It starts off in the first four verses with an explanation. There Jude, the half-brother of our Lord gives an explanation of what it would be like in the last times. Those certain men, he says, who will depart from the faith, will deny the doctrines of the faith, so he gives an explanation first about those who have crept in unaware. Then in verse 5-16, he actually gives an examination of the apostate teachers in the last days and drawing from the Old Testament he shows how they have been pictured all through the Bible. So, he just really kind of unfolds the scripture for us. Then in the 17th to the conclusion of the book he gives an exhortation and he encourages us to keep ourselves in the love of God, to keep praying, to keep studying the scriptures, to keep being a witness for the Lord.
Man what a great way to introduce us to the book of the Revelation in the end times.
