Living in the Land of Yes: Stay on Track, 2 Corinthians 11
Pastor Bill Ritchie
The holidays are in full swing, and we all know what that means: we're surrounded by turkeys, tinsel, and treats. While most people love this season, for some, it's a huge hassle: dieters! It's hard enough to say, "no, thank you," to food during the rest of the year, but during this season, we're all caught in an avalanche of sugar. And saying "no" feels impossible. It makes a person wonder if it's even possible to stick with it and eat healthy. It makes a person ask how in the world can you stay on track.
What does dieting have to do with this Sunday? Holiday healthy eating is very much like being a follower of Jesus, trying to live our life for Him in this world. From every direction, we are pulled and pushed, tempted and sweet-talked, to sin. Be honest: at times, it's tough to say "no!" Are we out of luck? Do we live as though we're destined to sin no matter what?
We need to know the keys to consistency in our walk with Jesus. In a most powerful way from the crucible of his own life, Paul not only
tells us, he shows us. And it's something all of us can do. Come Sunday, and learn how to stay on track in your life in Jesus!
