Preparing for life AFTER prison began while Dillon was still INSIDE the walls. Release day can seem transformational on its own - but, as you’ll hear, what happens before leaving is equally as important to success in life after prison. "You can't expect things to magically change once you get out..."

A former prisoner himself, Dillon shares about developing positive relationships, remaining flexible and realistic with his goals, seeking out accountability, and cultivating an attitude of service and respect.

Reentry can be a challenging time, and there are many barriers - which is why Dillon specifically mentions that being flexible is so important to a successful reentry experience after prison or jail time. The right mindset and setting goals can make a huge difference in the key first few months when returning to society after any period of incarceration - as can finding a church community who can support you throughout any obstacles that you face.

Dillon is also a graduate of the Prison Fellowship Academy®, and some of the skills he learned in the classes in this transformational program in prison are certainly applied in his advice. Prison Fellowship Academy® uses targeted curriculum, compassionate coaches, and restorative community to replace participants’ criminal thinking and behaviors with renewed purpose and biblically based life principles.
