In James 3:5-6, James compares our words to a fire because of the incredible damage they can cause. Our words can either build others up or burn them down. We need to be thoughtful with everything that we say and not careless with our words. Our words should promote God and others rather than garnering attention for ourselves. Lastly, God cares not only about what we say but how we say it. We communicate with our body language and gestures so we must honor God through that as well!
