BIBLE STORY: Washing Feet (John 13:3-17)

REMEMBER THIS: “Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12, NIV

SAY THIS: Who can love like Jesus? I can love like Jesus..

FAMILY ACTIVITY: Memory Verse Feet

WHAT YOU NEED: Paper and pencil

WHAT YOU DO: Have your child stand on a piece of paper while you trace their feet. Encourage your child to hop off the paper and then hop back on while you say the verse together.

Say, “In our Bible story today, we learned how Jesus showed love to His friends by washing their feet. Stand on this paper, and I will trace around your feet! Hop off your page. Great job! Now, let’s hop back on and say our memory verse together. You can do the motions, too!

“‘Love each other (hug yourself) as I (point up) have loved you,’ (point thumbs to chest) John 15:12. (Open hands like a book.) Let’s do it again!

“Jesus says, ‘Love each other as I have loved you.’ I’m so glad to know that Jesus wants to be my friend forever. We can love others because Jesus loves us! Who can love like Jesus? I can love like Jesus.”

FAMILY PRAYER TIME

Dear God, we want to be a good friend and love others the way Jesus loves us. Will You help us share and be kind to one another so we can be good friends and love others the way Jesus loves us? We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
