Sleeping Coconuts: Official Book Trailer
In the late 1980s, Wycliffe Bible translators John and Bonnie Nystrom came alongside several men from Arop, a village in Papua New Guinea, to translate the Bible into the local language. But a decade later, a massive tsunami took the lives of many people in Arop, including one of the translators. The Nystrom’s story is one detailing the sacrifice, teamwork and faith of the villagers and local translators in the face of tragedy. Watch the official trailer for “Sleeping Coconuts,” a book about John and Bonnie Nystrom and the remarkable story of how God used that tsunami to impact Bible translation in Papua New Guinea.
Wycliffe’s mission is to see a Bible translation program in progress in every language still needing one by 2025.
