Have you ever been passing someone in the hallway and they have asked, " How are you?" And you reply, "Fine, and you?" In reality, you may have a terrible headache, or you may be facing some extreme battle at home but you say, "Fine, how are you?" The exchange of casual pleasantries may be good manners, but when it comes to matters of the heart you can't pretend. As you walk closer to Christ you find yourself not willing to settle for less -- but rather more of Him. And it is that desire that causes us to "Refuse to Pretend."
