New Life Church | Daily Devo - Garrett Matsuyama
Today Pastor Garrett talks about how the word "snare" is a hunting term that describes a small hidden trap that animals step into because they didn't see it coming. Similarly, the enemy can snare us with too many responsibilities, the wrong relationship, or living up to others' expectations of you over God's expectations. The warning in this Proverb is what foolishness might look like, and the solution is what wisdom can bring. When you trust in the Lord, you will be kept safe. The only way to overcome fear in your life is to find something that you fear more. The one you fear the most is the one you obey the most. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Fear is okay as long as it's directed toward the right thing.
Proverbs 29:25
What do you fear or care about the most? Do you care more about others' opinions of you than God's?
Confess any fear you may have to God, confront it, and choose today to obey the One who matters most in your life: Jesus.
