It was a day celebrated by the Jews as Passover, a call to remember God's deliverance of Israel from their enemy, their oppressors, a memorial day of their freedom from the bondage to slavery. The gospels point to Jesus as the true Passover Lamb who releases us from bondage, sin, and shame. We remember His death and resurrection for us on this day.
