I’ll never forget singing the echoes to this verse as a little kid in Sunday School. Did anyone else do that? “This is the day, (this is the day) that the Lord has made (that the Lord has made). I will rejoice ( I will rejoice) and be glad in it (and be glad in it)!

Goodness gracious, that brings me back! I always loved that song as a kid, and I love it now. It’s the beautiful invitation to presence and gratitude. I pray as you sing this verse with me this week, your lungs would fill with breath, and your heart would be filled with gratitude for each moment you get to be alive on this gorgeous planet. Each day, no matter what interruptions, sorrows, or joys it holds, is a gift. Namely, knowing that we don’t have to face a moment of it alone gives us deep reason to rejoice and be glad!
