Making a Difference the Life of Young People Through Young Life
David is Vice President of Young Life Eastern Division. David grew up in a fairly stereotypical Indian home in that academics and school was very important. The challenges of growing up as an immigrant family in western Canada were severe as a young kid, dealing with a lot of public racism and teasing which has left some deep wounds. David always felt as outsider looking to fit in and belong. At the request of his mother, David started attending Young Life. It was there that David made a commitment to Jesus Christ and his life has forever been changed. In his role as Vice President David is very conscious of issues facing teens today and says that mental health and anxiety are two rampant concerns for teens today.
David’s first association with Young Life was as a high school student in Calgary. He started his Young Life career as a Student Staff in Edmonton while attending University of Alberta. In 1988 he returned to his home town to become the Area Director for Calgary, eventually becoming that city's Regional Coordinator.
