What is love? According to the Bible, love is something more grand, gracious, holy and humble than what we often see portrayed in life today. This video explores some of the things that the Bible reveals about love. Most importantly, that God Himself is love.

Love is the greatest commandment (Mark 12:28-31)

The top priority of a follower of Christ (John 15:12)

It fulfills all of the laws of God (Galatians 5:14)

It is the character of God (1 John 4:7)

It never harms a neighbor (Romans 13:10)

It considers everyone a neighbor (Luke 10:29-37)

It inspires more love (1 John 4:19)

Love is the ultimate work of the Holy Spirit in our lives (Galatians 5:22)

It isn't self-seeking, self-gratifying, self-glorifying (1 Corinthians 13:4-5)

It never thinks sin is OK (1 Corinthians 13:6)

After suffering for a long time, it is still kind (1 Corinthians 13:4)

It covers other people's sins without excusing them (1 Peter 4:8)

It's free (Romans 5:6-8, Ephesians 2:8-9)

It doesn't seem to have any boundaries (John 3:16)

It's not just emotions but a set of actions and attitudes (Ephesians 4:20-5:7, 1 Corinthians 13:4-6))

Something you can put on even when you don't feel like it (Colossians 3:14)

Love, self-sacrificial (John 10:18, 15:13)

Selfless (Isaiah 53:4-6)

According to the Bible, God is love. (1 John 4:8, 16)
