Romans 8:9 says, “But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you” (NLT).

Before, when we felt compelled to do something sinful, we had nothing except the willpower to stop ourselves. Now, as believers, we have a new power inside of us. When the Father comes into your life, the Spirit and Jesus come into your life, so we have a new power and ability to say no.
