June 28, 2020 - Submission: Training for Exiles // 1 Peter 2:13–25
According to the Apostle Peter, one of the Christian’s primary callings is to suffer well. That’s not a message any of us like to hear. But the more injustice we see—or experience—the more we need this reminder.
God is not blind to our suffering. He is not passively overlooking injustice. Jesus is, after all, the Suffering Servant, acquainted with sorrows. And through his kingdom, justice will one day roll down. In the meantime, God chooses to use our endurance in suffering to bring justice and salvation to the world.
As we protest and we pray, we look to Jesus, our older brother, who forgave those who hurt him and blessed those who cursed him.
