What does following Jesus look like? It looks like loving someone like Barabbas. Barabbas was a criminal with steep transgressions, and seemingly no conscience. Despite all of Barabbas' crimes he was freed over Jesus. It would be easy for us to resent Barabbas in the story, but following Jesus shows us what loving Barabbas looks like. Barabbas is flawed - he's you, he's me, he's your neighbor, your co-worker, he's us; and loving everyone despite their flaws, their sin, and their wrongs is WHO Jesus Is.
