I started to BELIEVE in THAT moment / SANGITA SHARMA
After times of abuse, drug use and desperation, Sangita Sharma watched a YouTube video that changed her life forever.
Sangita grew up in a Hindu family. Her home was filled with rage from her mom and dad, with the frequent need to call the police. At the age of 13, Sangita lost her virginity by rape through someone she met through her neighbour. When her relatives found out, they mocked her publicly. Sangita started to hate herself, she would hit her body, scratch herself, cut herself and condemn herself. It was like she was trapped in someone else’s body. She felt worthless, stained, disgusting and ugly. Then one day she was watching a You Tube program and was introduced to Jesus Christ. Sangita began her healing journey, experiencing the love and power of Jesus. Sangita now serves high-risk youth as a child protection social worker helping youth in gang involvement and exploitation. She loves to share her story with others, offering hope.
