Dean Wilder distinguished himself as the Director of Vocal Studies at William Jewell College, Liberty, MO. Wilder received professional training in opera from such artists as Boris Goldovsky, Julius Rudel and Thomas Martin and studied art song repertoire with John Moriarty and Allen Rogers in the United States and with Frau Hertha Klust in Germany. He performed as leading tenor with the New York City Opera Company and the Goldovsky Opera Theatre, as well as extensive solo performances with such conductors as Leonard Bernstein, William Steinberg, Carlo Maria Giulini, Bernard Haitink, and Robert Shaw. He sang at Carnegie Hall in New York City, Symphony Hall in Boston, Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., and the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in Los Angeles, among others.

Robert Hale moved to Europe and blazed a trail as one of the most esteemed heroic baritones of the 1990s/2000s, the Wagnerian bass-baritone of choice for the major opera houses of Europe and around the world. Hale has appeared with the many leading opera houses including the New York Metropolitan Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, London's Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Vienna State Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Munich State Opera, Hamburg State Opera, San Francisco Opera, Royal Danish Opera, Finnish National Opera, Sydney Opera, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. He has sung his signature roles Wotan/Wanderer in Wagner's Ring Cycle in most major opera houses of the world as well as the title role in The Flying Dutchman for which he received the Russian Golden Mask Award in 2005 for his performance at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
