In 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, we study the justice of God. We have all sinned against God and the Bible makes clear that hell is the punishment for guilty sinners. Since God is just he cannot ignore our sin but must punish it. The only way for us not to endure the punishment for our sins is to trust in Jesus. Jesus is God so he is able to live a perfect life and endure the punishment on the cross that we deserve. We can be made right before God if we repent of our sin and trust in Jesus!
