God Frees Peter from Prison | Kids Lesson | Compass Bible Church
Learn about Acts 12:1-24 on the "new" comedy show, The Three of Us, featuring Pastor Doug and friends!
In this weekend’s lesson, Luke, the author of the book of Acts, shows how God responds to his servants differently than he does his enemies. Since Peter and the church continued to love God and trust in him, they enjoyed the wonderful blessing of being in right relationship with God. Because of this relationship, the church’s prayers were answered and the apostle Peter was miraculously released from prison. God doesn’t always answer believers prayers in that amazing and miraculous way, but this time he did!
Since King Herod proved to be God’s enemy, his fate was far different that that of God’s servants.
Instead of receiving a blessing, Herod received a very costly punishment. Luke recorded that because
Herod did not give glory to God, Herod was cursed by God and died. Herod’s punishment serves as a
reminder that those who glorify themselves instead of God will be punished. To those who continue to love and remain loyal to him, God will bless greatly.
