God Calls National Translators
When it comes to the work of Bible translation, national translators are an essential part of making sure that translation work can continue. As Bonnie Nystrom explains in this video, God is constantly raising up local people to participate in Bible translation. Translators can work to teach nationals the skills needed to help with translation so that the work may continue and be multiplied in its efforts. Here, a variety of Papua New Guinean translators share about the sacrifices, challenges and rewards of being called to translate the Bible for their own language groups. While translation can be difficult, each of these men feel strongly that they have been called by God to become translators.
Wycliffe’s mission is to see a Bible translation program in progress in every language still needing one by 2025.
