Game On: Between the Lines Breaking Down Lunsford's Field Goal
Alan York breaks down junior placekicker John Lunsford's 60-yard field goal against No. 20/21 Richmond last Saturday that sent the Homecoming game into overtime.
After Richmond took a 23-20 lead on a 21-yard field goal by Peter Yoder with eight seconds left in regulation, Liberty was able to get in one quick play (a 22-yard completion from Josh Woodrum to Gabe Henderson) to set up Lunsford's record breaking kick to tie the game.
Lunsford was recognized through the week for the field goal. The kick broke his own school and Big South record set earlier this year (57-yard field goal against Bryant) and tied for the sixth longest field goal in NCAA FCS history.
