Finding Beauty When Alzheimers Tried to Break Us
We had to find my mom Beauty all over again when Alzheimers tried to break us. Sarah B. Smith shares her story of how early-onset Alzheimer's disease took it's toll on her mom, whose "grandma name" was Beauty.
Sarah was very close to her mom and she worked hard to support her dad as he cared for Beauty. But it wasn't enough. Beauty had changed, unintentionally trying to harm herself and saying terrible things to her grandkids. Sarah would have to place Beauty in a care facility.
Having to do that nearly destroyed Sarah, but after going through emotionally difficult days, she ultimately leaned on God who showed her and her children ways to love and bless Beauty and the other residents in the care facility.
