Faced with the knowledge that there are still people who can’t understand the Bible because it is not in their own language, George Cowan came to a conclusion that became his life’s mission: “I believe God wants every man to have the Bible.”
George Cowan’s legacy of conviction and passion to see the Bible translated continues to inspire and fuel present-day missions. Today at Wycliffe Bible Translators, we help communities around the world as they translate God’s Word. Our desire is for everyone to be able to feast on Scripture in a language and form that speaks to their hearts.
And we’re not about to stop now.
Wycliffe’s mission is to see a Bible translation program in progress in every language still needing one by 2025.
