There is a difference between peacekeepers and peacemakers. Jesus was a peacemaker. He intentionally sought out people that everyone else shunned and he showed them grace, acceptance, and love. Peacekeepers walk away from societal outcasts, but peacemakers are not afraid to move in and love the unloveable.

* Peacekeepers avoid a fight because they don't want to be help accountable.

* Peacemakers don't shy away from conflict and controversy because you can’t fix a problem if you are unwilling to address it.

* Jesus didn't walk away from the woman who was about to be stoned for adultery, he stepped in front of her and defended her. His attitude was, "hit me first" because He was a peacemaker not a peacekeeper. A peacekeeper would have kept walking and let her be stoned.

* Peacemaking is a posture before it becomes a practice. You need the peace of the Holy Spirit inside of you first before you can apply peace in your life.
