Building Up the Church — Part One
The Corinthian believers ranked spiritual gifts according to perceived levels of importance, giving particular esteem to the gift of speaking in tongues. In contrast, Paul taught that the greater gifts were those that edified the whole church body rather than the individual. Examining Paul’s comparison of the gifts of tongues and prophecy, Alistair Begg entreats us to worship God and serve in ways that strengthen, encourage, and comfort others.
