Perhaps, no other fruit of the Spirit provides a starker contrast between those who are led by the Spirit and those who conform to the current cultural climate. Bitterness, rage, anger, and slander seem to be human beings’ first language. But if we tune out the loudest voices, we can hear the Spirit quietly guiding us into a life of gentleness, a life where we don’t scream for attention, but are living attentively- one where we are slow to anger and quick to forgive.
