“Acting Joyful Glorifies God” - Hour of Power
Pastor Bobby continues his series of messages on Lions in the Daniel Den: Living at Peace in an Anxious World. Today’s message is “Acting Joyful Glorifies God”.
Dorothy Benham is a lyric-coloratura soprano and a frequent Hour of Power guest. Today, in honor of 4th of July weekend, Dorothy performs “The Star Spangled Banner” (comp: Francis Scott Key).
Jenny Oaks Baker is known as America’s violinist. A Grammy nominated musician, Jenny began her playing career at the age of four. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and her master’s degree at the Juilliard School in New York City. She has performed with the Utah Symphony, the Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Today, Jenny performs “Ode to Joy” (comp: Ludwig van Beethoven). She is accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra, as well as the Hour of Power Choir with Don Neuen.
Lexi Walker is a fourteen-year-old vocalist from Utah. At the age of 11, Lexi joined Alex Boye in his remake of “Let it Go” from the animated movie Frozen. She is a member of the One Voice Children’s Choir, which consists of 120 children from around Salt Lake City. Today, Lexi joins Jenny Oaks Baker on “The Prayer” (comp: David Foster; Carole Bayer Sager), along with Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
Directed by Don Neuen, the Hour of Power Choir performs “A Song of Peace” (comp: Lloyd Stone; Jean Sibelius; arr: J. Carl). The choir is accompanied by Zeljko Marasovich on the organ and Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
