A Remedy for Fear & Anxiety
The coronavirus pandemic has shut down countries, restricted people from gathering in large groups, and incited panic and fear around the world. Sports, concerts, restaurants, theaters and even churches have either ceased or restricted their operations. As Christians we are challenged to act differently than the world. But how do we practically do that? Pastor Mike Fabarez offers some biblical wisdom from Philippians 4:4-7 for dealing with this or any crisis.

Study Questions:
1. Read Matthew 6:25-34. How is your heart during this Coronavirus health crisis? Be honest with your small group and discuss how tempted you are to “worry” and “be anxious” in the midst of this threat.
2. Read Matthew 6:1-13. How do the specific aspects of this model prayer from Jesus help you to get things in perspective? What about this prayer helps to broaden and expand your perspective?
3. Read Luke 10:38-42. How might you apply this directive from Jesus to the situation we are currently facing? Knowing there is much to do and that schedules are disrupted, how can you make the “one thing” a prioritized pursuit each day?
4. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. List reasons you can and should rejoice and give thanks as a Christian who is a part of a Church family.
5. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:25. Why are prayer lists a helpful and important part of a robust prayer life? Discuss your efforts to keep and maintain a prayer list with your small group. If you use PrayerMate, Echo, Todoist, or some other app to assist your praying, then discuss with your small group the advantages and the challenges of using those tools. How can you improve the tracking of prayer concerns?
6. Read Habakkuk 3:17-19. How does this passage minister to you? Why does it require a mature faith and a broad knowledge of Scripture to think this way?
