Patricia’s recent experience in East Africa seeing the adversity that pregnant women endure that are about to give birth –in this case a rural village with a traditional birth attendant (sort of a mid-wife). She also emphasizes the problems that arise when a mother dies and the devastating effects that it has on the remaining children. She encourages Canadians to inform themselves and get involved by supporting Crossroads Relief and Development.
